I was updating BIOS through the ASRock provided software, at some point the computer locked up and now I can't even get to the BIOS page. When the system is turned on, I hear two beeps and that's all I get. Tried clearing CMOS via the jumper, no change.

Are you running FX-9000 series CPU? They removed them from the CPU support list and rendered us inoperable. We can either purchase a new bios for $15 +shipping or install a supported CPU and roll it back. |

I take it the BIOS update did not complete?
Do you get the ASRock splash screen after/during the 2 beeps or is the display blank? Things you can try: Remove all power cords from the system Press power button and hold it for 10/20 seconds to be sure all residual power is discharged Remove CMOS battery Set clear CMOS jumper to the clear position Leave the system for 4 hours or so Set clear CMOS jumper back to default position Replace battery Try to boot again Failing that: Disconnect all drives and unneeded peripherals Remove RAM and try one module in A1 then B1 slots The 2 beeps could be either faulty RAM (in this case it could be misreading the RAM) or post failure due to hardware error (sadly probably this due to a bad flash). If none of these things help you can contact ASRock Tech support and they can send you a new BIOS chip for your board for about $15, much cheaper than buying a replacement. Best of luck to you.
