All is working great (AB350M-HDV) and I use Win10 OS but no sound from both front and rear ports speakers of headphones.
Only sound comes via Asus Graphics card GTX1060 (HDMI) thru monitor with in built speakers. Any suggestions and or solutions would go down well at the moment. Thanks |

Dear dighame, Greetings, this is ASRock TSD. Regarding the question, we provide some suggestions for verifying. 1. Please refer to the user manual (page.26) from the link below to clear CMOS (Please shut down the AC power). 2. Please re-install Realtek high definition audio driver ver:8004 from the link below for Win 10-64bit OS. 3. Please check if Realtek audio device could be detected in Device Manager > Audio. 4. If possible, please change another front audio panel, headphone and speaker to verify. Thanks! All the best, ASRock TSD |

The same problem and the same MBO (AB350M-HDV R4.0).
No sound, rear or front. Only HDMI audio works (when plugged in). Onboard HD audio in BIOS is enabled. Defaults also loaded. BIOS is 3.30, not upgraded to 3.70 as recommended by ASRock (Raven Ridge CPU). Windows 10/64 Pro 1909, clean install. Installed Realtek HDA drivers from https://www.asrock.com/MB/AMD/AB350M-HDV%20R4.0/index.asp#Download Device manager under audio devices lists only "AMD High Definition Audio Device", VEN_1002, DEV_AA01. No yellow question marks or unknown devices anywhere. Settings -> Sound: No output device No input device either. Clicking on audio tray icon (it is red-white crossed) starts troubleshooter which offers to repair three audio devices, all of them are HDMI. Tried Linux Mint 19.3 live USB. The same situation. It gives only "Dummy output" unless HDMI is plugged in, as if no Realtek audio hardware is present. But... mint@mint:~$ lspci |grep -i audio 08:00.1 Audio device: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] Device 15de 08:00.6 Audio device: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD] Device 15e3 If I disable HD audio in BIOS, then one of them, "Device 15e3" disappears from the list. So it must be somehow "alive". more detailed info... inxi -SAxx mint@mint:~$ inxi -SAxx System: Host: mint Kernel: 5.0.0-32-generic x86_64 bits: 64 compiler: gcc v: 7.4.0 Desktop: Xfce 4.14.1 tk: Gtk 3.22.30 wm: xfwm4 dm: LightDM Distro: Linux Mint 19.3 Tricia base: Ubuntu 18.04 bionic Audio: Device-1: AMD driver: snd_hda_intel v: kernel bus ID: 08:00.1 chip ID: 1002:15de Device-2: AMD vendor: ASRock driver: snd_hda_intel v: kernel bus ID: 08:00.6 chip ID: 1022:15e3 Sound Server: ALSA v: k5.0.0-32-generic Any suggestions? Perhaps I should have mentioned, CPU pins have been bent and straightened.
But I don't see how it can affect the sound in any way. Realtek audio chip is on the MBO, not inside the CPU. And everything else besides analog sound works perfectly. The CPU is Ryzen 5 2400G. |

Yes it is under warranty, brand new. Essentially the sound is DOA.
But, due to corona lockdown, I would probably get the replacement on st. nevers day. Anyway, I feel that it would be the same with new MBO. The audio hardware _is_ listed under lspci, it is mistery why there is no sign of it in device manager. In the end, the solution will be a USB sound dongle. But I still would like to know who is pulling my leg. |

Exact same problem here. GPU audio works, mobo audio doesn't, on both front and back panels.
