    Posted: 10 Sep 2017 at 6:04am
I'm trying to register for a X370 Killer SLI/ac rebate at https://event.asrock.com/usRetailer/sep-amd-ne.17 but when I put in my information I receive an error:

"Sorry, your serial number has been registerd."

My serial number is from a brand new, unopened X370 Killer SLI/ac that I ordered from Newegg on Sept. 4. Does this error mean I need to return it?

Thanks.

Yeah, I made sure. The serial number only has zeroes. I've contacted Newegg support also. I'll see what they say.

Was the Rebate req'd UPC/SN sticker still part of/attached to the MB box?

Please let me know what NewEgg says. I'll help you if needed after hearing what they say.

the paranoid side of me wonders

either of two other options
has the board been returned to newegg by another buyer before they sent it to you
or
has persons unknown read the code at new egg and tried to claim a rebate for a board they never bought

My unqualified paranoid side wonders:

1. Does the SN on the box match the SN on the motherboard

Regarding 1 above, did someone pull a fast one and switch a dead motherboard in the box

Meh, let's wait and hear what NewEgg replies to the OP. I'm sure datonyb that you and I now have the OP paranoid TongueGeek

I got the SN off the box only. When the rebate failed to register, I decided against opening it even though the box appears to be brand new (it still has the plastic shrinkwrap on it and doesn't look tampered with). Of course, there are probably ways of "faking" a brand-new box look. Hmmm...I guess I'm as paranoid as the rest of you!

Anyways, I gave Newegg support the SN, and they say they'll investigate and get back to me in "3 to 5 business days." So I should hear back by the 15th at the latest. Meanwhile I'm stuck with an incomplete PC build on my hands... grrr....Angry

Thanks for letting me vent here. I'll be sure to update this thread and let y'all know if I need any help.

I'm worried that it has shrink-wrap on it.

They don't come shrink-wrapped.
