Today I got my EVGA G3 750 and now things are working perfectly.
As far as ram goes, the 128G of G Skill Flare 2133 is working great. Its cost me $1k for that. I didn't want to spring and extra $400-$500 to get 3200 cause it won't make that big a difference in what I do. But, thx for the suggestion.

My final setup is...
Ryzen 1950x
x399 ASrock Taichi
128G G Skill Flare X 2133
EVGA 750 G3 PSU
MSI GeForce GT 710
Fractal Design Celsius C24 Cooler
Fractal Design R5 Black Case
Samsung 960 EVO M2 500G (boot drive)
Samsung 960 Pro M2 1Tb (data drive)
Ubuntu 16.04 (had to go with this for compatibility reasons)
Total Cost $3449

I was able to get complete sensor info using gkrellm on Ubuntu 17.04. Still trying with 16.04
I have not been able to get WiFi to work. When I do Enable Wifi, it

I want to personally thank misterj and datonyb for all their help!

sdlashley, you are very welcome, great to hear you are running 8 sticks - the only one - you the hero!  Some questions:
Are you using all default settings?  Is SVM disabled?  What is your command rate (1T or 2T)?  What BIOS are you running?  If you will put your specs in your signature as I have they are always there.
You did not finish your WiFi question.  Where did you get the driver?  I got mine from Intel, but do not use WiFi.  I got my Aquantia NIC (AQC107) driver from Aquantia and my AQ107 was not even recognized.  ASRock had modified it - had to DL the ASRock version (same version number - terrible practice!).  If you got it from Intel, please DL the ASRock one and see if that helps.  Great job!  I think lots of people here will be very happy.  Thanks and enjoy, John.

Hey there, could you link us specifically the link on Newegg or Amazon on what 128GB memory kit you're using?  I can't seem to locate GSkill FlareX 128GB kits anywhere.

As far as we know, that's the only time 128GB have ever worked.

ON THREADRIPPR ONLY USE QUAD CHANNEL NOT 2*DUAL

inside ram,(hardware ,IC and pcb )single, dual, quad not same ,completly diffrante ,, many people think = dual =2*single channel ram or quad =4* dual ram

you must use only ram, write on box QUAD for threadripper (dual for ryzen)

if you put wrong ram your system cant start , even if start , hiccops rip in windows, harm your cpu

in amd thteadripper ,change your ram to this
gskill ri4*8 3200=250$
or
gskil ripjaws4 4*4 2400=150$

www.amazon.com/G-Skill-Ripjaws-2400MHz-PC4-19200-Channel/dp/B00N1OZDPO

for ryzen use only ram write on box DUAL CHANNEL
gskill RGB trident z 3200 2*8 =180$
geil evo x 3200 2*8 =120$

not , only use 2400 or 3200 (best frequency stable) not 3000mhz

ATTENTION

For 128GB of RAM on a Threadripper, what GSkill RAM do you think would work?  It has to be the 8x16GB stick kit (128GB total).

Thanks!

128noGB,  it does not look like either Amazon or Newegg have these two kits:
https://www.gskill.com/en/finder?cat=31&prop_2=128GB+%2816GBx8%29&prop_6=0&prop_3=0&prop_4=0&prop_1=0&series=2954
The real question is where did sdlashley purchase the kit.  it was mentioned that it cost $1000, so maybe it came from far, far, away.  I would suggest you go to the G.Skill Where to buy and search a few.  I could not find it in a quick search.  Good luck and enjoy, John.

sdlashley, please tell us exactly what model of Flare X you have - F4-2933C14Q2-128GFX or F4-2933C16Q2-128GFX?  Also please confirm that Linux is seeing all 128 GB of your memory.  Thanks and enjoy, John.

That's a cut and paste from Newegg invoice. I paid $1000 for my 128Gb Flare X.
I purposely bought it for 2 reasons.. cost and G Skill claims Flare X is for AMD.
So far, its worked perfectly.
The price has gone up $184 since I bought this last week... Me thinks I got a good deal on that.
