I just built my first ASRock system, a Z370 Taichi with an i7 8700K.  I'm upgrading my system from an existing Asus P8Z77-V Pro motherboard.  In my case I've got a watercooling setup and control all my 4 pin GentleTyphoon fans and PWM water pump via PWM fan headers on the motherboard.  At least, that's what I used to do with the Asus board.  But now with the ASRock board I'm unable to control the fans or pump in anyway way.

Does anyone else have this issue?  Am I completely missing some obscure setting in the BIOS I need to enable?  I've messed around with FAN-Tastic in Windows 10, and also in the BIOS and in both places nothing changes fan speeds.  When I perform a fan test it shows no change in fan speeds regardless of the power setting.  I know for a fact these fans are PWM responsive, my Asus motherboard ran for 7 years with these fans that way.

Thoughts?  I've submitted a support ticket to ASRock about this.

Thanks.

Okay, I'm dumb.  I figured it out.

I went back into my case and dug around and realized I've actually got 3 pin fans.  I though they were 4 pin.  :-\  So, I changed the BIOS fan settings to use voltage mode instead of PWM mode and suddenly everything responded.  It's curious - only two fans have voltage options, but once I set those two fans I found that all 4 of my fans + pump connected to the motherboard became responsive and I was able to modify the curves of each.

Sorry for the false alarm.  Everything just magically worked with the old board, I didn't realize my fans were voltage based.  Embarrassed
