Motherboard: ASRock Fatal1ty Z370 Gaming-ITX/ac
CPU: Intel Core i7-8700 Memory: 16GB Patriot DDR4 3200 No overclocking, everything at stock speeds, voltages, and timings I just set up this motherboard today and while using it, I noticed a nearly-constant soft high-pitched squealing/chirping noise coming from the motherboard. The noise seems to be directly connected to activity. Specifically, when I move the mouse and the pointer moves around on the screen, the chirps increase and when the mouse stops moving, they decrease. Downloading files or pretty much any other CPU processing seems to increase the sounds. I've pinpointed the sound using a tube to listen to the VRM area or the left side of the CPU (area circled in pic below). I've heard of VRM whine, and this seems like that's what it might be. My question is, do other users of this motherboard have this issue? I found this thread on an ASRock Z170 board with a similar problem. Should I RMA this board?

VRM Whine or Coil whine in general depends on luck of the draw. If you have it you have it.
