I'm most of the time getting 5 short beeps from the mobo. I get no POST.

Its a new build:
Fatality AB350 gaming ITX/ac  mobo

AeroCool Integrator 400W PSU

Ryzen 1500x
Corsiar Vengeance LPX ram 2 x 4 Mb  3000MHz
no graphics card
HDMI connection to HDMI of tv.

I have tried after clearing CMOS.
Tried a single ram stick in each slot, with both sticks.
Checked 8pin cpu connector and the 4 pins are. giving 12.4V
The fan is spinning. Tried 2 tvs. Tried both HDMI sockets.
Tried with and with a hard drive attached.
I've re-seated the CPU.

I was getting 5 short beeps every time. However after reading another post on here, I took one ram stick out, cleared CMOS and powered up again. This time I get no beeps but still no POST.

Any advice will be appreciated. I don't have other ddr4 ram, cpu or mobo to swap round to try.

copenworld, Ryzen has no built in GPU, so no picture.   "Without VGA card5 => long beeps".
Enjoy, John.

You might want to look at the new 2200G/2400G Ryzen ($100/$170).
They have a pretty good GPU built in.

Hi thanks for the reply John. Doesn't the motherboard deal with graphics? seeing as it has 2 HDMI ports?

If not, you are saying I need to get a graphics card?  Is that because the HDMI ports are for an APU fitted? A Ryzen CPU then needs a standalone graphics card?

yes im afraid you didnt check the build list quite well enough

dont feel bad your certainly not the first
your options are
buy a graphics card (a bad idea at the moment due to prices)
or option b
the ryzen 2400g cpu 4 cores 8 threads max boost speed 3900mhz at present for sale for £149 from novatech in the u.k. (the on chip graphics is very similar to a gtx1030) for free !

or £89 for the 2200g 4 cores 'no hyper-threads' and slightly less able graphics

both suitable for light gaming or perfect for media centre, home office etc

Thanks Datonyb.  I hadn't thought the Ryzen had graphics but thought it was on the mobo. It hadn't made that clear to me during my parts searches. At least I should be able to get it working now.

it has indeed been a while since the boards had graphics on them

if your not building pc's regular its an easy mistake

hopefully the above options should be ok depending on your usage and needs

My last build/present pc is on an AM3 socket. Not a gaming machine.

Any tips on the graphics card? I have an R5 series for PCI-E 2.1.  I've just put this in and nothing. I read PCI-E 3 was backward compatible.  But is it?

PCIe slots are backwards compatible, you can even change this in BIOS too.  Have you by chance plugged your monitor into the card?  Or are you still trying to run it through the HDMI/display port on the board?
