Well, you're already overclocking the memory controller and the rest of the "uncore" by running your RAM faster than 2933 so maybe a little more SoC voltage would help. The Radeon driver is known to be buggy (acknowledged in the release notes) so keep a look out for an update - hopefully from Crimson Re-Live to Adrenalin. I'm sure there will be a new BIOS along soon too. Agreed on the erroneous iGPU voltage reading, btw.

Thanks, all, for the tip on the Beta BIOS 4.43.
It made a huge difference. Under the official 4.40 BIOS, none of my vanilla drives were recognized, and performance for the Ryzen 5 2400G was abysmal. After updating the BIOS to 4.43, I saw a dramatic improvement. Plus, it now recognizes all of my hard drives: SSD + Seagate 500GB drive. I'll post the actual results in a bit.

Here are the results from Performance Test 9.0:
Ryzen 5 2400G, 8GB RAM DDR4 2666, 120GB SSD Windows 10.1 64-bit BIOS 4.40 BIOS 4.43 BETA The biggest change, as you can see, is in the 2D and 3D graphics score. While still far below a dedicated graphics card, the performance is improved measurably. In real world use, my daughter can now game on this machine - with some of the graphics effects turned down.

How are you able to use Ryzen Master and Bios OC at the same time? I kept getting errors.
1600 stable is really good -- after some real world testing in games, I had to reduce my iGPU to 1525mhz. I'm not sure what I am doing wrong or how I can improve this at the moment, but it might have to do with the voltage being too low for the gpu. What RAM do you have? I have a set of 16gb patriot 3400mhz that seems to be running stable at around 3333. I've tried OCing it, but even just a little bit above will cause my computer to crash after a while of heavy use. Any other tips for getting up to 1600+? I'm not sure how beneficial it is to get that high, but if it is, I'd love to get more out of this chip. You can OC the GPU in Advanced>AMD CBS>XMP 2.0>ADVANCED Beware, the voltage settings are in hex or some other code and not simply volt/millivolt parameters.

Bad experience at the moment. I purchased this board for a friend of mine who has only got a WiFi connection and the wifi bsod is totally invalidating for him. I have 30 days to return the board and get a new one from another manufacturer, if this issue won't be fixed.
But I really do hope that they'll fix it soon because everybody pointed me to ASRock am4 mobo as they seem to be the best. |
