Hi,

i recently bought a E3V5 WS and wanted to build up a NAS.
CPU i3 7100T, Memory: 2x KVR24E17S8/8MA

I checked with two graphic cards and 2 power supplies.
I do only see a black screen. No beep, also when i remove the memory.

I assume the BIOS version is P1.00 (this is the label on the BIOS chip).
I know the CPU is supported in only in the latest BIO version P7.10.
The Memory is not in the official support list, but i was hoping it will work.

My plan was to boot to the BIOS and update it to the latest version.
Do you think it is the CPU or the memory causing my issue?

When i change the configuration, i noticed that the system is powering up for approx 10 secs, then the fans are going down, and then it is powering up again, but i do only see a black screen.

Thanks!!

your problem is, that the CPU is currently not supported by the BIOS, so it will NOT boot. You have to update it prior using this CPU. this leads to two option:
  • buy or borrow an older Skylake CPU to update the BIOS
  • check if it is possible to buy a BIOS chip

maybe the reseller will be able to update the BIOS for you.
