Hi i have a ryzen 5 2400g and an Asrock ab350m pro4 with bios version 4.63.
I have had it for a week with no problem whatsoever, but yesterday i noticed a problem with my system.

I was using it normally and suddenly the system froze, but i had no BSOD, even the youtube video i was watching continued playing and the clock worked normally, but all my usb devices (mouse, bluetooth usb, keyboard) stopped working, the only way to make them work again and the usb ports is by reseting the computer. I fresh installed windows again (1709) and it happened to me again. It happens all the time and is very frustrating...

Any thoughts?

thank you very much

beretta92user, working on it right now!  Which USB ports are you using?  Try the rear ones if using the panel.  Please post all your specifications.  Enjoy, John.

thank you!

i am using the rear ones, the two usb 2.0 of the rear for the keyboard and mouse, and one usb 2.0 of the front panel for the usb bluetooth.

I have a ryzen 5 2400g, an asrock ab350m pro4 (bios 4.63), and 8gb of ddr4 ram 2400mhz (4+4 KVR24N17S8/4).

I am fully stock, no overclock on the processor, ram or the gpu.

Thank you very much

Pd. i have installed windows 10 1709, and the chipset first and finally the radeon driver.

ps: i am using the chipset drivers and the radeon drivers of the asrock download page for my motherboard, i found that they work better than downloading the chipset and the radeon drivers from amd directly. I tryed both configurations with fresh installations of windows 10 each time and the problem happened in both cases.

current drivers: AMD all in 1 driver ver:17.40.1025 and AMD ALL in 1 with VGA driver ver:17.40.3301

beretta92user, are all three failing?  What is your power supply?  Only use the drivers from here: https://support.amd.com/en-us/download
The ASRock drivers are almost always old.  Are there no USB3 ports on your board?  If so, please try them.  Enjoy, John.

EDIT:  I have to make a phone call.  I know you are +7 hours from me, but I will return.

they all fail at the same time, usb3, usb2, rear and front, it is like they suspend for power saving and can not come back. I tried now unabling the power saving usb setting on the ryzen balanced power plan and disabling the power saving mode of the usb devices on device administrator.

My power supply is a generic one...it come with my case, it is one year old and worked very well on my last intel i3 7100 / b250 board.

thank you very much for your reply.

ps. this problem happened to me just after i overclocked the system for a while (3.9ghz 1.3v), just for fun, i am now totally stock. Could it be the power supply that is failing after i overclocked the system?

beretta92user, I would not think OCing for a while would break the PS.  Sometime the PS is too low power.  Try removing one stick of RAM and see if it works better due to lower power demand.  Remove the BT if you can for testing.  Open BIOS/UEFI and do a F9 and F10 to assure you have default settings. I enjoy helping people when I can and you are very welcome.  Have fun, John.

hi, thank you very much for your help and time! i will try and report with the result. The strange thing is that the system worked fine for a week...and now is making this strange things...

i have default settings on the bios, i even cleared the cmos and restored bios default settings.

the psu is a "500w" one... i can not assure what is the real number, because with those cheap psu you never know. Do you recomend upgrading it?

thank you

ps: since i disabled those usb settings all is working fine for the moment...

beretta92user, it would be very useful to test with a fresh PS over 500 Watts, say 600 W.  Have you tried any of the power reducing ideas I posted?  Sounds like you are getting there.  Enjoy, John.
