Hello all,
I need help figuring out why my computer keeps crashing. amd threadripper 1950x asrock x399 Tiachi w/2.00 bios enermax liqtech 360 4gbx4 ADATA ax4u2400w4g16-drz ram 3xpny 1080ti blower evga 1080ti ftw3 gaming ADATA sp600 64 gb ssd w/OS WD Blue 1tb wds100t2boa ssd silverstone st1300-ti psu windows 10 pro 64 windows and all drivers up to date This is a new gaming build that I want to mine on it until fallout 5 comes out and then 3 or 4 way sli it. For now I am trying to mine with Nicehash Legacy but it keeps crashing. Windows Crash dumps are not written out even though i have them set to. In the event log it is consistently loging the same errors. First is ACPI 15/Application popup 56, followed by an eventlog 6008 error, followed by a Kernal-Power 41 error, and then some more errors after. Everything seems to run ok when not under load. This seems to happen about 15 seconds after I start mining and the cards' fans get up to speed. Sometimes it is an unresponsive or hard crash and other times it just reboots. For some reason i have to unplug and replug in my usb mouse to get it to work. It happens when i have 4 1080 tis going at once, 3 are pny 1080ti blowers and the other a EVGA 1080ti FTW3 gaming. Could it be because they are different cards? I took one pny card out of the bottom slot and the same thing happens but it sometime will run fine. If the EVGA is on the top slot it will go a few hours to a whole day in between errors. If the EVGA card is in the third slot with 2 pny cards above it the error occurs in 15 seconds. I have not tried just all 3 pny cards and no evga card. I read somewhere that these errors might have something to do with the bios maybe? Here is an image of the event errors. Please Help me. Thank you |

If dumps are not being produced/created, that is an indication of memory or power issues.

Also, DO attempt recreating this with only the PNY 1080's installed.

thanks for the help.
I found a setting in Nicehash legacy that was preventing the windows crash dumps from writing, but since I have changed it i have not have had crash. When I do I will post the results. I checked the memory with windows memory diagnostic and found no problems. It could be a bad power supply, but i dont know how to test for sure. I was leaning towards this at first but after it happened when I removed one card I started doubting this. The WD was late on arriving so i put it all together with the adata drive first. I didn't realize that there was a ssd support list. I got lucky with the wd. i will wait for the crash dump to see. Could that really be the problem? As far as windows and Drivers go, I have Windows update off but have been turning it back on frequently and checking for new updates and turning it back off. The drivers I simply went into device manager and right clicked on everything and updated driver with the "search automatically for updated driver software" option. I will post the screenie of the errors. the tree button is MIA. |

ok it ran for 20 hour and then crashed. Still no memory crash dump files. it did log some different events tho.
Not sure what to make of it. I am going to try to disable the drivers on the video cards because i read that the error can be caused be duplicate audio drivers. My next step is to migrate the os to the wd drive and eliminate the adata. any other advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks |

i am running one wired in top port. I migrated to wd drive and it is still crashing with no dump files.
I might see if i can barrow another power supply to see if that makes any difference. First i will try putting in only 3 pny cards. I am pulling my hair out!
