You guys are having issues getting above 2933? I'm running 2.0 bios, and have hit both 3333 and 3466 (which wasn't quite stable) just using the xmp pre-configs.. on my 3200 ram.

And I can hit XMP 3200 and 3333 with my Flare X 8GB modules (32GB Total) and XMP 3200MHz with my b-die 16GB modules (64GB Total) as well on X399 but it's not stable even though it will pass 1000% HCI MENTEST without errors it will intermittently give a blackscreen (bluescreen error) and reboot when the system is idle.

At 2933/3033MHz the system is rock solid and doesn't have those stability issues that appear when XMP 3200MHz + is enabled.

Others have described the EXACT same issue as I have experienced above 2933MHz with their 3200MHz b-die ram when using XMP @ 3200MHz.

Flare X was rock solid @ 3333HMz on Asrock X370

Would be easier if you would post your HW Profile in the sig...

Ehhhh... I bet you have either two sticks or four single side ones?  With such a config there is no problem, but try four double sided sticks (16GB) and the fun starts. And even more fun when you are populating with 8 sticks... I even have heard legends that people have reached 2666 doing that...

I am sure (100000 freaking %) that I did everything possible to get it stable ---  incl. swapping the BIOS modules across different releases, using recommended timings from the Stilt, using timings from RyZEN  RAM Calculator, using my own settings, and also using the settings I have on other X370 board with same memory kit.
I honestly feel like I did everything possible, and I was saying this since August 2017 (or earlier) that TR AGESA is NOT on-pair with the AM4 one, and there are definitely features missing that would be helpful (e.g. cold-boot RAM voltage etc.) to solve stability problems.
BTW - on the X370 Fatal1ty Pro Gaming my 64GB 3200 CL14 is running without a problem, set XMP, fire and forget (of course then some tweaks to the timings were applied to make it even faster).
Funny eh?

@lowdog --- I even can't reach 3066 stable... it allowed me to POST sometimes but that's it... but yeah... your description is exactly to the point what is happening.

Weird as my 4 x 8Gb Flare X b-die single sided modules can't run stable above 2933/3066 on Fatality X399 - just intermittently will reboot when system is just idling but on Fatality X370 was perfectly stable at 3333Mhz.

My 4 x 16GB dual rank b-die kit will run HCI Memtest past 1000% error free on X399 but again will intermittently just reboot the computer when system is idling. The 16GB modules would not run past 2933MHz on the X370 at all.

G.Skill F4-3200C14Q-64GVR  (Ripjaws V Red 64GB kit).
Single module identifies as G.Skill F4-3200C14-16GVR.

Reached 3066 POST, nothing above it (reached it already with v1.60 or 1.80 BIOS I think).
2933 Rock-stable 24h x 7

On X370 FPG the same kit runs flawlessly 24x7 with the default XMP (3200 CL14)  & tweaked timings.

do you have the option 'dram power down' in your bios ?
(on the taichi its in the dram configeration option on oc tweaker)

disabling is the desired option

Yes, only 2 sticks of 16gb for now.. Definitely something I'll keep an eye on.. when I upgrade.  Hadn't realized folks were getting a speed penalty for running 4 or 8 sticks.

I'll probably find out how bad it really is in 6 months when I have to double the ram...

Yes that option is there and is currently set to AUTO.....just read up on it so I'll give it a try disabled.

There is also an option called "Gear Down Mode"....know what that does??? it's set to auto/enabled as well.

Geardown is also VERY important. If your RAM requires 2T CR then in order to increase compatibility/stability - disable it .

Here some more explanation / definition on what is Geardown Mode:
"Allows the DRAM device to run off its internally-generated ½ rate clock for latching on the command or address buses. ON is the default for speeds greater than DDR4-2667, however the benefit of ON vs. OFF will vary from memory kit to memory kit. Enabling Geardown Mode will override your current command rate."
The last sentence is CRUCIAL if your RAM requires 2T CR.

And here some benchmarks:
