hi all,

just bought an X470 master sli, ryzen 5 2600x, 16gb ram and can't get it run.

the ram is listed on qvl

24 pin, 8 pin, cpu_fan connected (tried 2 different psu)

graphics card is connected (tried 2 different)

ram is connected to a2 and b2

pc speaker connected

when i switch on the psu, the red led near sata is blinking.

when i press the board power switch, i get no uefi screen, no beep
after 11 blinking red led's the board reboot.

also tried with only one ram connected - no change

also tried with no ram or no graphics - never get beeps (the speaker is ok)

what is the problem ? the board ? the ram ? me ?

Had similiar problem.
In my case it took few reboots and moving ram to A1 and B1 slots.
After that the PC had booted up nicely with ram downclocked to 2666mhz and then I was able to freely switch the ram banks as I wanted and Pc had no problem booting up and going through tests after setting up windows.
Although I can't get over 2800mhz no matter what I try, at 2933 the PC will not boot every 3rd run and spews errors in prime, while 3k and 3200 won't even boot. So at the moment I'm running 2800 14-15-15-32-50 1,35v and have no trouble with it.
Fyi the Ram kit I use is Goodram IRDM x 3200mhz 16-18-18-34-52 2x8gb

The Bios is the retail one 1.0v as I didn't have time to get the one with agesa patch.

I tried that also...
I switch the RAM to A1 and B1 and also tried with only 1 RAM in every Bank.

but, no succes ....

My RAM is HyperX  HX432C16PB3K2/16 and listed on QVL.

I brought the Board back to my Hardware-Dealerand, he gave me a new one.

but, same Result.

Have you tried a minimum boot outside of the case?

CPU/cooler, 1 stick of RAM, GPU and PSU with nothing else connected. If you have different display options (HDMI, DVI, Display Port), try different cable types, sometimes HDMI in particular can be quirky.

You never listed all of your components.  List out your PSU, GPU, and even your storage devices.

ok, sorry for that and sorry for my bad english, i am not a native speaker.....

here the parts i bought new:

Asrock X470 Master SLI (w/o wifi)
AMD Ryzen 5 2600X
Scythe Mugen 5
MSI  GeForce GTX 1060
PSU 500W bequit! Straight Power 10 CM
HyperX 16GB HX43216PB3K2/16

for testing i also used a older bequit! 450 PSU and a Geforce 750ti

the only things i cant't change are the cpu and ram, but these are tested my  hardware-dealer.

i know about the problem others have with the scythe Mugen and to much pressure, so i tested first with the stock cooler.

I don't know if it is your problem but those BeQuiet PSUs are garbage for gaming systems. Don't get me wrong, it's a great brand but those PSUs (multi 12v rail) are designed for office PCs using integrated graphics.

I have gone into detail about the how multi rail vs single rail work and what their purposes are in the past, I really need to put up a sticky about the subject.

In a nutshell, sub 800w multi rail PSUs are for basic, office/browsing systems using an iGPU or ultra low end discrete GPU. 800w and above multi rail PSUs are typically used in servers or high end multi GPU systems.

Single rail PSUs are what you want for average gaming systems.

Multi rail has it's wattage split among the number of 12v rails (lines) it possesses, this is usually displayed on the unit's specs as 12v1, 12v2 etc. If you see this, don't buy the PSU unless you plan to use it for a very basic system or understand how to load balance your power distribution and even then, I avoid them. A multi rail PSU is in essence multiple low wattage PSUs slapped together with their total wattage being listed.

Your Straight Power 10 has 4 rails so each rail can handle a MAXIMUM of 200w (18amps per rail). That is not good enough for your system.

In contrast 500w single rail PSU will have 1 +/- 45 AMP 12v rail. This is what you want.

I always advise against BeQuiet's budget PSUs, they almost ALL have multiple rails. In my opinion it's false advertising, unfortunately it's legal because the combined power is technically the rating of the PSU. They should list the wattage as that of the most potent 12v rail imo, it would avoid a lot of confusion.

next step is now to get the hyperx 16GB HX43216PB3K2/16 working

1st try with dram freq. set to 2400 give me only 3 beeps

do i need to disable the am4 advanced boot training ?

That is great news :)

No, you want boot training on, it's purpose is to make the RAM work better with the system Wink

Set the frequency to 2133 and all settings auto and see if you can get POST. Once you have post you can then start pushing up the speed a little at a time.
