Just flashed 4.81 on X370 Taichi with Ryzen 2700X / G.Skill Flare X 3200 MHz. (2 x 8 GB). So far so good. I don't overclock the CPU, but run RAM at 3200 MHz using customized timings.

I spoke too soon. Virtualization stopped working for me with 4.81 (on Debian testing Linux). Even though I enabled SVM in the firmware, qemu/kvm are not working anymore:

Error starting domain: unsupported configuration: Domain requires KVM, but it is not available. Check that virtualization is enabled in the host BIOS, and host configuration is setup to load the kvm modules.

Strangely, lscpu shows virtualization as available:

OK, I reverted back to 4.64, and virtualization issue is gone. So it's surely a bug in the firmware.

Can you direct it to Asrock please, or I should open an official ticket to report the bug?

Definately open a ticket too. Not that I ever got a response, though.

JZ's ability to help is limited.

That's classic AsRock.
I opened a new "ticket" listing the issues again and it's been twelve days, no answer. Clap

Check what this guy has to say: http://forum.asrock.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=9465&title=asrock-support-doesnt-bother-replying

Basically, he's suggesting to write an email directly, as if you're going to RMA. Maybe it's worth a shot?

Also, JZ has been really quiet on the other issues. I hate this type of silence.

I tried different GPU and memory and disconnecting my SATA devices and I still get an E6 code with no post on 4.81 with pbo enabled. I reported it to ASRock support and they said they hadn't heard of the problem so I pointed them to ocn Taichi thread.

I'm sorry, just wanted to help.

is not my job here and now some are mad at me because i also have a lot of other things to do and can not always respond to every post immediately. Cry

I know from the BIOS team that is still much in the pipeline. Smile
Kind Regards,
JZ

guys can i just say

jz is exactly the same as you guys
HE IS A USER OF THIS FORUM
he works for himself ,his time is his business, eg to pay his bills he needs to work elsewhere

if and when he has time to help out other users, then we welcome the input, if hes too busy doing something else to pay his bills then thats also fine

if JZ talks to anyone in asrock then you should look at it as jz is asking a friend a favour..........

JZ , im sorry if you felt under pressure

Close, but not quite. JZ clearly shares our passion in high-tech gadgets, no doubt in that. His forum title however says "ASRock Partner" - coincidence?

Well, how do you think I get my board? Found it in a fortune cookie? I too had to work hard, so I can pay my bills and afford to buy my stuff from guys like JZ.

JZ's work here is highly appreciated, even by me! At the end I'm goal-oriented, I don't care how the issues are fixed as long as they are fixed. So, bashing JZ is shutting a huge door for all of us.

I personally got mad at you because you suggested buying a new mobo because the old one was neglected by manufacturer. Imagine if your Benz sometimes refuse to steer, and MB just tell you to buy the newer model because it MAY not have this problem.

Best news for a long time. Life is not for waiting on better BIOS releases.

P.S. I'm NOT hating on anyone here, except for ASRock. Big smile Sorry if it didn't sound like that.
