I have this pretty annoying issue since 2021. My pc just freezes for a short while then restarts itself. It happens randomly whatever I do browsing internet or playing games.
I tried various things clean installing Windows, default bios settings, various tests but none trigger the issue. I'm kinda running out of things to try. Sometimes it runs fine for whole day or even month but other time it can restart like once per hour. I spotted WHEA errors in Event Viewer appearing most of the time after restart: 2x Cache Hierarchy Error and 1x Bus/Interconnect Error. My PC specs: CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 1600x Motherboard: Asrock X370 Pro4 bios version P5.80 RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws DDR4 2x8GB GPU: Gigabyte GTX 1070Ti 8GB PSU: SilentiumPC Supremo M2 Gold 550W Windows 10 64bit 22H2 I'd try updating bios but on newer version it says it's not recommended for my cpu. Is it safe to try? It helped once before when I couldn't update Windows. Any tips welcome :). At least I wish to know what exactly causes it. |

Hi @Kaeles,
I suspect not enough CLDO_VDDP voltages, would you be able to make a screen capture and share to us? use the program zentiming to check various voltages required to run properly. https://zentimings.protonrom.com/ might be also not enough SOC voltage. Here's screenshot from HWMonitor (in idle):

Hi @Kaelos
Short story, - I don't see any problem, your settings seems good, I don't know why it random freeze then restarts. - - Hence I recommend based on experience you try 2 things. NO.1 Loadline Level 3 or Loneline level 2 for both CPU and SOC. Increase stability sacrifice maximum power saving. NO.2 upgrade bios to 7.20, specifically agesa 1.2.0.7 very good stability even for 1600x zen1. Long story, - You have around / nearly 0.95v SOC, for 2666MT/s @1333Mhz, should be REALLY GOOD...I don't know why it freeze then restart. This usually happens to me when SOC voltage low. What is low you ask, 2933 MT/s = 1466MHz soc 1.0625v will freeze then restart for me. Must 1.1v then OK. Just happen last 2 weeks, because I was experimenting. 3333 MT/s = 1666Mhz soc 1.1 will freeze then restart for me. Must 1.15v then OK. Corsair CMK32GX4M2B3000C15 hynix 25nm afr but 3600 MT/s = 1800Mhz soc 1.1 OK because ram is Galax HOF samsung b-die 21nm Finally the silicon will degrade over time, CPU, ram, etc etc will degrade very slowly, hence after every 6 months to 1 year on average need a bit more voltage here and there. i.e. my corsair could run as little as 1.32v very fast tight tuning timing get 75ns latency versus XMP no tuning 85ns, only need 1.32v 6 years ago... over time it needed 1.35v, then 1.37v, then 1.39v this year. and the SOC used to be as little as 1.025v, then 1.05v, then 1.075v now 1.1v over 6 years. *************** See my old post a snapshot of a old history (doesn't mean it's correct, because old bios default voltages was wrong).https://forum.asrock.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=11580&KW=soc&PID=63463&title=soc1-1v3200mhzuefi5-5-calculator1-51x370taichi#63463 |

the bios 5.80 that you're using is agesa 1.0.0.1 is so old and obviously more buggy than current agesa 1.2.0.8 but not yet release for your mobo, but you have 1.2.0.7 hence go for it.
and hope you will start to learn XMP and manually set them in, since your ram is supposed to be 3200MT/s, running 2666MT/s is such a waste. The difference is significant, you will feel faster when opening any application. |

Thanks. I will try updating bios then. I was worried to do it because new version says 'Not recommended for Summit Ridge' which is mine cpu but I already have issues so whatever.
When I got pc I turned on XMP profile with 3200 Mhz but was getting bluescreens so switched to 2666 Mhz as seen in here: https://i.imgur.com/5O6Ubuz.png and it worked fine. Yeah I don't know much about overclocking. |

Sorry for late reply, just wanted to let know that updating bios fixed the issue. RAM is also stable now.
