    Posted: 24 Jan 2018 at 8:14am
I have OC'd my motherboard to 3800mhz and 1.375 volts. I can run Cinebench and Aida64 without my system crashing. However, if I run Prime95 I cannot run it for longer than 1 minute without it rebooting my PC. Should I disregard Prime95 for this CPU and the settings that I have, or should I back off my OC settings until the PC can pass Prime95?

Equipment list in signature.

prime is heavy on hardware, if it restarts, u may have power supply issues
but if it does it only in prime (games etc all fine) u may ignore it until u get issues

what cooler you using ?
what if any case fans ?
finally not all 1600 ryzens were created equal.......

the last one i tweaked was a real pain to get stable at 3.8 and runs closer to 1.4 volts now, certainly not one of the 'silicon lottery winners for sure'

have you tried 3.7 at same voltages for testing purposes ?

I'm using a Cryorig C7 CPU cooler.

I have four case fans in a Corsair Air 240 Case. The fans are Corsair AF 120 Quiet Edition fans.

Yes I have tried 3.7 at 1.35 volts and this also fails in Prime95 although Prime 95 runs for a longer period of time.

Wow after reading your result, I actually felt lucky for my r5 1600. I manage to get 1.2375 vcore stable using prime95 for 1hour. I was using the wraith spire, peaks at 77 degrees during the test though.

Are you running your ram at 3200? you may want to tone them down to factory setting like 2400/2666 1.2v and see how far your cpu can overclock first. You want to rule out that it is not memory instability.
