My son asked for AsRock B85M-ITX LGA 1150 Intel B85 HDMI Sata 6GB/s USB 3.0 Mini Itx Intel Motherboard but I cannot find it in stock anywhere. What is a comparable substitute?
It will be used with the following: MSI Radeon R9 380 Directx Video Card Ballistix Sport XT 8GB Kit 4GBx2 Intel Core i5-4460 LGA 1150 CPU - BX80646I544 |

The B85 is an Intel eight series chipset board, that is used with the 4th Generation Intel Haswell processors. The i5-4460 CPU is a 4th Generation Intel Haswell processor. Any Intel eight series chipset mother board will work with that CPU. That includes Z87, Q87, Q85, H87, H81, and B85 chipset boards. Any mother board with any of those three letter chipset model names in it will work with your CPU. Also, the Intel nine series chipset boards will also work with your CPU. That includes Z97 and H97 boards. Here are ASRock boards that are available from an eTailer in the USA that will work with your CPU and other hardware. Sorry for the text only link, the forum link tool fails on some URLs. If the size is a constraint for you, then choose the Mini ITX entry in Form Factor along the left side of the page. |

Too, I wouldn't expect a lot of headroom for overclocking on any mITX board. There just is not enough acreage for a decent compliment of VRMs.
I add that as I see the R9 380 and assume he'll be gaming and possibly trying his hand at OCing the processor too. |

Take a look here, all these boards will work with that i5, I wouldn't waste the extra money on a Z series board though so take a look at the H97, H87, B85 and H81 ITX boards listed. The i5 you listed is not a "K" class CPU so won't be overclockable anyway. Going with a Z chipset based board will allow you to overclock the RAM but for gaming you won't notice any difference in performance.
