Brand-new build - all new parts.
B550 Phantom Gaming 4 Ryzen 5 5500GT 16Gb RAM 2 1Tb M.2 SSDs in RAID 1 Everything went together fine...Win11 installed fine. Installed latest AMD drivers, all devices recognized, Windows updates came down...all fine. But - when I shut the machine down, it will go through the motions and turn off the video - but the fans keep spinning and it never actually shuts off. Repeated many times. Only way to actually shut it off is to hold the power button down. Anyone have any thoughts on this? |

I have verified that this only happens when using an M.2 RAID array (as boot/only volume). Which in this case completely defeats the purpose of the machine.

Well after going through literally everything I can think of, and find any reference to on the interweb, I'm just going to return this mobo and try something else. No point in fighting with it.

I'm having a similar problem with a X670E Pro RS with a 9800X3D. Since I'm using that chip I had to flash the BIOS so I know that's new.
When I shut down the CPU fan goes to 100% and the GPU also keeps spinning its fans at what I think is 100% ... certainly higher than normal. PSU with fan shutoff stays off (does come on briefly on boot). Did we get anywhere with support on this? Any ideas? I would rather not have to disassemble my 9800X3D test bench if I don't have to. |
