Hello,
ASRock Z390 Taichi Ultimate Intel i9900K Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 2666 16GB (8x2) Samsung 850 EVO 1TB LiteOn DVD Drive I'm trying to install Windows 7 from an optical disk drive, so no issues there. Following the instructions listed here: http://www.asrock.com/microsite/win7install/, and really, specifically here https://youtu.be/lQq7YvfIujc?t=68 (starts at relative timestamp), I see that I don't have the option for PS/2 Emulation. Therefore, I don't have a way to manipulate the GUI to install Windows 7. I thought about getting a PS2 Keyboard to just shortcut the issue, but they are actually nearly extinct; I can't find one locally and it leaves me with other questions such as: 1) Is this normal for this specific board? Does it not have the PS/2 Emulator support in the BIOS that other boards might have? 2) If the answer to #1 is "No," should I just RMA the board since it appears to be missing the proper BIOS options to complete the setup? I don't want to have this issue every time I need to install Windows 7 Right now I'm just hedging towards buying a copy of Win10 since going forward, on all newer builds I feel like I'm going to run into the same issue in one fashion or another. Obviously, I don't want to because of the cost.. but I feel like I've run out of options that don't cost some sort of time or money. If anyone could answer my two questions above and/or offer any solid advice, I'd be very appreciative. Thanks! Edited by ASRock_TSD - 18 Dec 2019 at 12:06pm |

You have just found out why the board does not support win 7. None of the boards today support 7. Win 7 is at EOL, Win 10 is a great replacement.

Yes, I do realize this.
It doesn't really answer my questions if the board itself is defective because it seems to be missing BIOS options? |

But is it really missing the option or was it removed.

I'm honestly not even sure what this question is asking. How would I even know if the option was removed?
Anyhow, I bought Win 10 and I still had issues. Install Program kept freezing on load, so I gave up and RMA'd the board. Very disappointed in this product. |
