SATA mode is set to AHCI and I have not changed it at all.

Thanks, rjohnson11. I have no explanation for what happened to you. I have a very similar setup as you do with the three SSDs in a RAID0 with Win10 installed and the two large HDDs as simple SATA backup drives which existed before I created my RAID. No disappearing and no drama. Sorry, I wish I knew what happened. Thanks and enjoy, John.

Thanks but having been helping others in the PC for many many years I know that things can always go wrong which is why I have a cloud backup. However in my case I should have backed up a bit more often and I'm going to do that from now on.
