Hi all
I'm interested in the E3V5 WS motherboard for a basic server. Firstly, I'd like to know if this motherboard truly utilities ECC (with supported CPU), or if it just disables ECC functionality and the modules still work? Many manufacturers say "supports ECC" but when you read the fine print they mean that ECC modules can be used but do not have ECC function enabled. Also The CPU compatibility list http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/E3V5%20WS/?cat=Memory doesn't categorize by ECC memory type and I really don't want to check every one. Does anyone know if any of the list modules are ECC, or can anyone recommend ECC memory for this motherboard that they know works? I usually buy Kingston, but this motherboard isn't listed on their site. Thanks! |

FYI
I contacted Kingston and they corrected their website to add this motherboard to their search which can be found at http://www.kingston.com/en/memory/search?devicetype=7&mfr=ASR&line=Motherboard&model=95641 From there you can use the filters to find their ECC memory which all begin with the code KVR21E15 (see http://www.kingston.com/en/memory/valueram/valueram_decoder for a description of part number codes. |
