Hi guys!

I've bought an AsRock H87M used. I already knew that it had this issue: when you press the power button, fans start spinning for a second, then the system reboots endlessly, until you don't shut off the psu.

I've checked the pins on the socket and they are all ok.

What could it be?

Thanks in advance for the reply!

The strange thing is that, if I jumper clrcmos for a lot of time (like said here: http://forum.asrock.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=630&title=how-to-clear-cmos-via-battery-removal) and I remove the battery too and then I reassembly all and start the system, it starts and I have no reboot, but with black screen. When I turn it off and then turn it on again, the bootloop starts again!

Hi, not sure whether you have fixed your problem. let me share my experience in resetting cmos. i encountered similar problem when i replaced CMOS battery.

this was what i did:

Reset Cmos by shorting the jumpers.
Refer to manual how to reset cmos jumper..with cmos battery on, switch off the power n wait for about 15 sec. Take out the jumpers from the original position 1 &2 and slot in the pins 2 and 3 to clear cmos pins...wait for 5 sec....then put it back to default pins 1 & 2...then try power on

it solved my problem. then just setup the BIOS manually or restore from your backup setting.
