Hi guys,

I recently updated to the 1.90 BIOS for the X299 Taichi motherboard.
I've since noticed that the 1.90 BIOS has been removed from the site. Should I be rolling back to 1.70? Or is it ok to stay on 1.90?

I did a bit of digging since I also upgraded to the version 1.90 and had the same question.  It seems, Intel is recommending OEMs to stop distributing the latest MU (microcode update) because there may be some instabilities (see https://newsroom.intel.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/11/2018/01/microcode-update-guidance.pdf) - MU version for 79xx and 78xx  CPUs in the 1.90 BIOS is x3a which is on the "stop deployment" list.
Another thing I had noticed after the update was that the package voltage (not the core voltage) was upped from 1.9V to 2.1V increasing thermals on the CPU so much that I had to go through the whole process of re-tweaking OC settings for my 7820x to become long term stable again.
Please take this with a grain of salt as I am not an ASRock employee and this is just a speculation on my part.

that's awesome information. Thanks!
I havent had too many issues with thermals at the moment on my 7900x, so ill just sit tight. Doesnt seem to be an issue for me so far.
