I have a R 5 3600 and a x470 pro m4 motherboard with the latest v3.0 bios.
Cannot get any new ram to work on this, I currently have a pair of older trident gross RGB 3200mhz chips and wanted to get some newer 3600 ones.

I bought some ram from the QVL list
(DDR4     Corsair     3600     3600     8GB     CMK16GX4M2Z3600C18 ver 3.31)

And with that ram my computer just resets as if I press the reset button.
No blue screen no error, just reset.. WTF?!
I tried XMP profile
I tried manually doing the timings
I tried just setting the speed and leaving the timings auto.

Before this I tried another set from the QVL and it would not post even with a bios reset.

Why in 2020 is it SO hard to get memory that just works?! This is insane.
Is the problem my CPU, does AMD offer trade-up or something?

You have some other issue going on .. maybe faulty CPU ..PSU .. RAM not seated proplerly ... or video card .. if you are past return window with retailer, AMD offers RMA services for CPU's if it is faulty.

I've run all kinds of RAM ..mostly stuff that is not on the QVL list with an X470 Master SLI, B350 Fatal1ty Gaming ITX/ac.. and current X570 Steel Legend(All from ASRock) and all ran RAM at at least XMP using 3000 series Ryzen chips without issue. Even my wifes ASUS B350.

Well when I put the 3200mhz g-skill tridentZ ram in the computer works perfectly fine for days on end.

I removed and reinstalled the ram multiple times thinking it might have something dirty in the slot etc but there wasn't.

It reset itself when it doesn't post after 3 tries.

My old ram that works always work, it does maybe 1 diagnostic loop and then posts.

The 2nd set of new ram I bought it did a full reset, then posted with the wrong speed.
I then tried XMP and it didint work. Reset again, set the speed manually and it loaded windows but did the weird computer reset.
Then I set the timings manually and it still reset so I just put my old ram back in.
