Hi,

I have two J4125-ITX boards, one is OK but the other has an issue - a rather strange one!

I use the onboard USB 3.2 Gen1 Header (USB3_0_1) to provide two front USB 3.0 ports. On one board it works fine but on my second board I have a strange issue. I can plug in any portable HDD or SDD without issues BUT if I plug in any USB Flash drive (i.e. memory stick) it will not be seen at all. I've tried many USB storage devices, portable HDDs and SSDs are ok but not memory sticks. I've also tried two different USB 3.0 Front Panels - makes no difference.

Please note the rear USB 3.0 and 2.0 onboard ports work fine. Also I'm running Windows 11 Pro and have reinstalled the USB drivers several times

Am I missing something obvious here - why would any portable HDD or SSD work but not any memory stick when using the USB 3.2 Gen1 Header (USB3_0_1) interface.

Hi Everyone,

I solved my problem - it was my fault I should have read the manual properly.

In addition to using the USB3_0_1 header I was also using the USB_0_1 header - that is not allowed as per this warning in the manual ...

https://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/J4125-ITX/index.asp#Specification

*USB3_0_1 and USB_0_1 cannot be occupied simultaneously. Please connect a USB cable to one of these headers only.

Best Regards,
Gussie
