I believe the answer lies in the O.C. settings.
I have experimented with manual settings and have been able to get a stable CPU @ 4701 MHz with 32gb memory albeit at 1333 MHz. It is a start. I'm sure there is a better configuration. I must learn how to do that. |

Thanks. I am still investigating this via manual O.C. settings. ASRock says this MB will do 2400 MHz DIMMs so I am confused as to why I am only at 1333 on 1866 MHz DIMMs. This new CPU clocked easy at 5.175 GHz |

After much effort and experimentation I got it to 1600 and 4x8gb in.
It's not the 1866 I had on other MB but it seems to be the best possible. I have to call it good at this point. Thanks for all the help. |

Now that I have a solution to my MB issue I thought to comment a bit more. I like the AMD 9590. This CPU, I am using now, clocked in at an easy 5.175 GHz. It is running the stress test MPrime on all 8 cores as I type and I can still use it as if it was sitting idle. So that is impressive enough in my book. My Focus going forward is learning OpenCl programming and using my Radeon Pros' for "number crunching." I am not sure how many "threads" the GPUs' will add in processing power but I'm guessing more than 64. I want to say much more than 64 but I am still learning about these Radeon Pros' They have superior floating point precision over ordinary GPUs' I am reading. So All is good here, I will get my money's worth of use and in the future when the 64/128 core CPUs' are released I more than likely will upgrade. There will always be the next best thing so enjoy your hardware. I am enjoying mine. |
