   Thought I should put up a thread to talk about linux distros and our experiences
with them.

I have always had a handful of linux systems set up, usually as file servers but 
I also enjoy throwing light weight distros on old laptops etc. Since Windows 11
though I have been seriously considering ditching windows altogether and making
the switch entirely over to linux, at least for my daily driver. 

I will be checking out a few different distros and trying to work out what fits
my needs best. 

We can use this as a general linux discussion thread.

My favorite distros:

Linux Mint
Lubuntu 18.04 (last 32bit supporting version)
Ubuntu
Puppy Linux
Arch Linux
Red Hat Linux (not used for ages but it was my first distro, version 6, Hedwig IIRC)

For older laptops I tend to roll with Lubuntu and use my own custom themes etc.
Mint is what I tend to use on desktops and Puppy Linux gets used on the real
retro stuff. 

I would love to hear your thoughts, experiences and favorite distros.
Also let me know if you guys think it would be useful to have a dedicated Linux
troubleshooting/help thread.
