Hi I'm currently using ASRock's RX 5700XT Challenger. It's been roughly 2 weeks? I'm getting crashes and reboots. From what I can see it's temperatures shooting up high. Even when I undervolt, crashes can happen. I'm surprised that the stock settings are not able to cool the card on it's own. Is there something that I'm missing? On stock settings, I can roughly hit like 99 degrees occasionally 100 degrees when I'm on Apex Legends. Overwatch on the other hand has seen temps touching 100+ which automatically crashes it.

Dear Rikaki,

Thank you for choosing ASRock.

Regarding your case, please try to update vBIOS and install the latest driver to try.
vBIOS: https://www.asrock.com/Graphics-Card/AMD/Radeon%20RX%205700%20XT%20Challenger%20D%208G%20OC/#BIOS
Driver: https://www.amd.com/en/support/graphics/amd-radeon-5700-series/amd-radeon-rx-5700-series/amd-radeon-rx-5700-xt

Also, please try to adjust the fan speed to full speed under Radeon software to try.

Thank you!
Yours truly,
ASRock TSD

Did you try the latest vBIOS for your GPU like ASRock Tech Support suggested above?

I believe it has an improved fan curve.

No, I haven't tried it yet, but I wanted to know if someone solved it.
I have black screens and pc restarts when I play Warzone

Funny, I have the exact same problem of a complete shutdown with my 5700xt Challenger D whenever I play Modern Warfare for a while. Running the latest vBIOS and even reflashed it. Could only replicate it from a VRAM stress test which gave a BSOD, but in-game the shutdowns aren't BSODs, it just completely turns off.
I'm using a X570 Steel Legend on 3.00 and a single 1440p 144hz monitor.

Yeah, honestly those temperatures are way too high for regular gaming, especially if the card is crashing at stock settings. The RX 5700XT series is already known for running pretty hot, but consistently touching 100°C+ in games like Apex or Overwatch usually points to either poor airflow, dried thermal paste, or the cooler on the Challenger model struggling under load. If undervolting still isn?t stabilizing it, then the cooling setup probably isn?t keeping up properly anymore.

First thing I?d check is your case airflow because that actually makes a massive difference with hotter AMD cards. If your case has limited intake fans, adding something like a good airflow fan kit can help a lot. I?d also honestly consider replacing the thermal paste and thermal pads if the card has been used heavily, because factory paste on some 5700XT cards ages pretty badly over time.

For hardware upgrades that could help, a decent GPU support bracket plus better case fans like Arctic P12s or Corsair AirGuide fans usually improve temps noticeably. Some people even swap to larger aftermarket coolers or vertical GPU mounting for airflow improvements.

You might also find really useful tuning guides on communities like ?GPU Cooling Labs??because a lot of people there discuss RX 5700XT hotspot temps, fan curves, undervolting, and airflow setups specifically for these cards.
