    Posted: 24 May 2021 at 10:49am
Hello - First configuration with ASrock MB:

MB X570 Taichi
CPU Ryzen 7 3700
RAM 64GB DDR4 2666mhz ECC (16GB x 4 all slots filled)
GPU NVidia GEFORCE RTX 2060
PSU EVGA 500W

I have a single SSD on SATA1 and DVD drive on SATA8.

When I boot the system, the Dr. Debug LED displays 27. I could not find that code in the manual. Could someone tell me what this code means and if there is a more comprehensive list of X570 Taichi codes than what is available in the manual?

Thanks for the pointer to the codes! I also emailed support and they confirmed that is was memory issue and that I test each stick of RAM individually.

When I do this, I get a series of numbers that fly by. The one I could make out (visible long enough for me to make them out) :

36 -> 98 -> 64 -> 92 -> d6 -> 02

and then it goes blank with no code with power still on. I've gotten this with 2 of my 4 sticks so far, but suspect I'll get the same with the other 2 when I test these in these tomorrow.

I wish I knew how to distinguish between something wrong with the memory itself and a motherboard that is having trouble with this kind of memory of otherwise good memory.

As for BIOS, it doesn't finish POST and I don't see anything on the screen. Is there a way to get this info than from the display?

No, it's not on The QVL because it's RAM I had before I bought this ASRock board. I'm using Crucial modules with part number

CT16G4WFD8266.18FDI

There are two on the QVL that have the following similar numbers:

CT16G4DFD8266.16FE1
CT16G4DFD8266.M16FE

I asked tech support before I bought the board whether there was any reasons to believe this RAM won't work and they basically said no, but that of course, they couldn't guarantee it would.

I bit the bullet and ordered some Corsair RAM that IS on the QVL (CMW64GX4M4Z2933C16). If this doesn't work, then I'll probably need to return the board if a BIOS update doesn't fix any remaining issues.
