We have quite a few Z690D4U-2L2T/G5 boards.
Configuration: Z690D4U-2L2T/G5 motherboard i9-13900K CPU Crucial CT32G48C40U5.M16A1 x 4 INTEL SSDPE21D960GA Optane via OCuLink (U.2) SK hynix Platinum P41 1TB PCIe NVMe Gen4 M.2 2280 Ubuntu 22.04 with the 6.5.0-25-generic HWE Kernel Applying BIOS 20.03 breaks access to the SK hynix NVME, Rolling back to 10.07 corrects the issue. 20.03 added VMD. Without enabling VMD I dont see the SK hynix nvme at all..not in lscpi, lshw, nvme list, dmesg, nothing however the BIOS sees the disk under Advanced->NVME. Enabling VMD, I can go into the Intel RAID within the BIOS and see both disks but just enabling VMD without setting a raid level (something I dont want to do) causes lshw to see the disk controller but not the actual disk so it doesnt show under dmesg, lspci and nvme list. Rolling back to 10.07 and everything is fine..the nvme shows up in lshw, lpci, dmesg, nvme list. We are struggling here because we want to move forward to the 20.03 BIOS but this issue is a show stopper. The U.2 connected Optane is fine..never any issues with that showing up. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks! |
