Best I can read from above and elsewhere on these pages is your fastest option will be an AIC card plugged into a PCIe slot as it appears the M.2 position is limited to SATA III speeds. As you're located in the US contact ASRock Tech Support using one of the below means and verify first though as I'm not 100% convinced I'm correct. Too, remember they may be on an extended vacation from yesterday thru Sunday due to Thanksgiving here. Am looking to purchase a ~
Toshiba OCZ RD400 Series Solid State Drive PCIe NVMe M.2 256GB with MLC Flash (RVD400-M22280-256G)i am seeing it is NVMe Protocol (PCIe, Gen. 3 x 4) and my 990 fx extreme6 has a 1 M.2 (PCIe Gen2 x2 & SATA3) bios vers 1.40 adds M.2 and NVMe support... will this work?...work but not as fast as advertised?
