I have a z170a-x1/3.1 mobo and have been having the same problem for over a year. I believe it started with the Windows 10 "Creators Update". I've updated to the latest bios version with no improvement. I really don't want to deal with the trouble/expenses of buying a new motherboard but I might have to at this point. Regardless, I'm definitely not buying an Asrock product again.

He installed the absolute latest bios on one of his computers (i ~think~ dated mar 2018) and all seems to be well, at least for the last week. So, anyone with a similar problem (sleep mode advances date), please check the latest bios. Maybe that will fix it.
I'm wondering if it is specific hardware related (ie this particular ssd or ram, that brand /model of video card) installed. Both of his computers are very similar to each other in parts despite being a ~ year difference in age. thanks all

I gave up on mine and would not buy ASRock again. Really poor support. They just deny the problem exists. Gone back to ASUS. A little more expensive but a lot more reliable and better support.

I have a client who has the same problem on BOTH his asrock machines and it happened pretty much at the same exact time! When he puts them to sleep, comes back the next day, his computer says it is like 1-3 months later!
ASRock H170AX 3.1 if i recall the board name correctly. Started happening ~ january 2018..maybe after updating to windows 10 to 1709 version. One machine is about a year old, and the other maybe 18 months. He changed the cmos battery hoping that would solve the issue I'm hoping a bios update fixes this issue for him. But if it happens with your ubuntu as well, that is a huge concern... Edited by jodyoh - 20 Mar 2018 at 3:58am |

Hi Finchy, I logged a ticket with them on the 8th of March as titled below in their reply. Aside from this automated reply I have yet to be contacted from anyone from Asrock which is quite frustrating. Asrock do not offer a support service in Australia so its all online via their worldwide site for me. If you or anyone out there happen to be in contact with them please feel free to mention my issues ![]() Dmp noreply@asrock.com ASRock Technical Support Division - Time and date changes and wake from sleep issues Dear Customer, Please DO NOT reply to this automatic mail. Hi Parsec, It doesn't matter whether the pc sleeps for a short time or a long time the keyboard and or mouse will not wake it at all. I have tried 2x sets of wired keyboards and mice Dell and Lenovo) with the same results. The cmos battery seems okay because if i leave the pc turned off (shutdown) for a long period i.e 24 hrs and turn it back on the time and date are correct. And in relation to the logitech keyboard and mouse drivers they are up to date. I think the mainboard has an issue that a bios fix will hopefully help. I have lodged at ticket with ASrock but have yet to receive a reply. Thanks for your help |

Hi Wardog, Yes it at least one day sometimes two. With the days changing not linked to how long the PC sleeps for i.e a short sleep = one day advancing and longer sleep = 2 days etc. Hope this makes sense? Also i have checked and then changed the polarities of the wiring from the case to the m/b header with no change. I believe it is a mainboard quirk that hopefully will be fixed in the next bios update whenever that occurs. Thanks again dmp

I have windows 10 pro on my asRock Z170A 3.1. I have a similar problem. I can wake my pc from sleep but it's date and time jumps forward by sometimes weeks. All drivers and bios up to date. Been having this problem for a long while. Any help would be appreciated.

Not that this should make a difference, but I find that for some reason it does.
If I put a PC into Sleep mode, it seems the longer it is "sleeping", such as four or more hours, the more likely it won't respond to the mouse, and wake up. Shorter Sleep intervals, less than four hours, and the mouse wakes the PC. Next, what works to wake the PC? Clicking or moving the mouse? Both? That can seem random with my PCs and the mouse being used. Logitech keyboard and mouse... they can be finicky, I have a few. Do you have their software from Logitech installed? The date change, does that only happen when waking from Sleep? If you do a Windows shutdown, and then start the PC, is the date right? Time and date changes can be caused by a bad battery in the board. Yes the board is new, but a bad battery can happen. |
