Tweaking the memory is all new to me. I did play around with it late last night a bit and it wouldn't boot up at all afterward so I had to pull the CMOS battery. Then it started right back up again at least.

My XMP 2.0 Profile 1 is DDR4-3200 16-18-18-36 at 1.35V. 2X8 set-up. Crucial Vengeance rated at 3200OC. Crashes quickly when gaming. Defaulted down to 2133 without XMP. Very sad...

"Crucial Vengeance"
Umm, Vengeance is Corsair brand. Crucial brand is Ballistix. Assuming it was just a minor brain fart, quick search found these unhappy people: https://www.reddit.com/r/Amd/comments/qudvg3/is_corsair_vengeance_lpx_ram_bad_for_ryzen_5800x/ I never buy DIMMs if I don't know exactly what brand/die DRAM chips are being used. Corsair doesn't manufacture their own DRAM, so they grab whatever they can from the market. Easy enough for me to picky since I only buy ECC memory (Kingston Server Premier) LOL. What's odd is that it worked fine with Zen+ CPU. I assume you didn't even remove the DIMMs when you swapped the CPU? If you did remove them, maybe remove them again, clean the contacts, and re-seat. Also, if you're messing with it in BIOS, the first thing you need to do is to raise the voltage to 1.35V. Even if you can't reach 3200MT/s, something like 3000 would be pretty good. |

Thanks Ecc. Yes, it is Corsair. I did actually re-seat them when I put the cpu cooler on but I didn't clean them. I'll play around with the timings a bit. One of posts on that Reddit link had the same memory running at 3800 but yes, I'd be happy ok with 3000.

Good afternoon. Why is there no amd a8 7680 (ad7680aci43ab) in the compatibility list for asrock fm2a78m pro4+ motherboard. Although the processors are newer. Does anyone have information on this?

Thanks CX5. You were correct that the Secondary timings didn't seem to change when I set the XMP profile so I plugged those in manually, but it still doesn't run stable anywhere near 3200. The only thing I've done so far that helped was without the XMP profile, upping the voltage to 1.25 and that seems to allow me to run stable at 2667.

Hi @DTingman,
getting the secondaries is only part of it, if you read all the posts replies & history in the links and the link's links I've given then you would have seen CLDO_VDDP, which is not the regular simple VDDP alone, they are two completely different thing, you will have to dig into the bios everywhere to find it. Back in 2017 /2018 the CLDO_VDDP was put very deep and default 0.7v hence most XMP failed. Nowadays it's right_UNDER_inside of the SOC voltages area on the tweaker page, you'll have to dig in deep. You need 1 volt for CVLDO_VDDP, recent ASRock bios some versions default to 0.95v which partly works and don't. This CLDO_VDDP has something to do with infinity fabric, the faster it runs the more voltages it requires, my 3600 needs 1 volt, when 0.95v will sometimes crash game. btw, what is your full spec? also please provide a zentiming screen capture, it is extremely important to see VSOC and CLDO_VDDP, etc etc etc... keep the bios agesa 1.2.0.7 try 1.4v dram more voltages here https://forum.asrock.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=24829&PID=100979&title=xml-profile-2-0-not-working-with-ram#100979 |

Hey CX-5. This is an entry level store bought gaming computer I bought a couple years ago and have done a few upgrades on. The motherboard and power supply may be holding me back but below are my specs. I did made a copy of my Zentimings report but haven't figured out how to post it here yet.
AMD Ryzen 5 5600 Nvidia GForce RTX 3060Ti Corsair Vengeance LPX 3200OC 2x8 Asrock a320 HDV Rev 4.0 motherboard Bios ver. 7.2 Generic 600 watt power supply 2 SSD drives and 1 SATA hard drive |

Hello @DTingman,
Actually if you achieve boot 3200 xmp and windows stable, games no crash, etc, then no need to post anything to me.... all the tips are at the other posts started by GrdMstr79, your situation nearly same as his. Make sure to read the entire history, all of it, you'll need all of it. Pay extra attention to this https://forum.asrock.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=24829&PID=101680&title=xml-profile-2-0-not-working-with-ram#101680 I also have A320_HDV for my sister. Apart from no pcie4 and no storemi, I don't think you're loosing anything else. Certainly not being held back by A320 and 600watts. It's good enough. When I game 1440p ultra high settings, my 3800x only pulls 60 watts and my 6900XT only pulls between 100~150 watts, because I use Radeon Chill fps limits to 100fps, I don't see any point to waste more power. |
