Big smile Hell, bring it over here to Arizona tonight, I'll be home and have scads of DDR4. Most compatible with your board too.

Merry Christmas Ken.

Unfortunately no in the way of help with the ram.

I haven't built any systems for a while and the tech is a lot different, but I am extremely puzzled by the fact that it appears that the MB is not powering up, for example, USB ports no power...keyboard does not power up, no signal at all from the graphics card, but the lights and fans on the card are running.

If I was still in AZ II would bring it right over. I was stationed in Tucson, where are you Wardog?

I wonder about the memory not being compatible. I use a set of G.SKILL F4-3200C16D-8GTZB in my Z170 Extreme7+ board, which is not listed in the Memory Support list, or in G.SKILL's Memory Configurator. Still, it is possible they aren't compatible. G.SKILL's memory list for both of our boards ends at 2800 speed DDR4 memory. I'm not sure what G.SKILL is implying by that.

When you use two DIMMs, which must be 8GB each, are they in the A1 and B1 slots? Every time you change the memory configuration, you should be clearing the UEFI/BIOS with the jumper on the board.

The USB ports won't get power until later in the POST process, after they pass their POST testing. Memory is done before the USB ports, so if that is failing, the USB ports will never get power. That seems to be the case.

No mention of the PSU model. Is it new? If not, have you used it in the recent past?

I would remove the video card, and just use the onboard graphics. Clear the UEFI/BIOS after removing the video card, use one DIMM in the A1 or B1 slot.

Tried all that, nominal charge to a local shop verified that I was right, bad MB. Memory, pwr supply, everything is all new and all different configurations tried to no avail prior to going to the shop.

Thanks
