    Posted: 15 Feb 2018 at 2:54am
Recently replace my 3770K with Z370 Taichi and 8700K Bin L741D739.
Ram is G-Skill 3200 running at rated speed.
Cooler is Corsair H100IV2( reused from old install).
The problem is temps. At idle, it is 39C with the pump at highspeed (3170RPM)

Running OCCT takes it up to 95 and Realbench almost to 100.
It will spike to 56C at the slightest uptick of useage.

I have pulled the pump and the AS5 has evenly spread evenly across the entire top of the cpu so I know the seating was proper. The 3770K oc'd to 4.2 and ran in the 30s and never higher than the 60s.

All bios settings on the Taichi are at default save Vccio (1.1) and Vccsa(1.15) to get the ram to run at rated speed.

If I try changing to any overclock settings such as all cores at 4.5 and offest voltage at -60 it idles at 51C.

The only thing I can think of is that my AS5 paste is a year old.

Any suggestions?

What program are you using to check temps? Which fan header are you using on the mobo?

Pump is hooked up directly to Sata power cable. H100I V2 fans are connected to cpu and cpu aux connectors and I have 3 other fans connected to Aux 1,2 and 3.

Pump is running at 3120rpm and the water temp does  heat up.

Temps were measured using Coretemp and HWInfo64.

I removed the pump, reapplied thermal paste and rotated the pump 90 degrees. Seems to be better. Idling at 35C and OCCT peaks at 75C.
All BIOS setting at default except for VCCIO and VCCSA. I will wait a couple of day before experimenting.

To be more exact on Cinebench15 i only test CPU .......
but my volts reach up to 1.439 max value on per core VID and 1.344 at taichi vcore max value.....HWInfo64

VCCIO is 1.224 and VCCSA is 1.272

Cstates disabled  multicore enabled

on CPU-Z while benchmarking with cinebench 15 the core voltage never went above 1.216!!
Now which one gives the right numbers?

I set the pump speed to high (from 2070 to 3150 RPM and my temps dropped from 99 to 81 on Cinibench.
Then I set multi core to enabled and cstates to disabled and my temps went to 93. I expected as much.

One thing I have noticed is that the liquid temp in the cooler only goes up to 36.1C while the CPU is at 87+
This looks like bad contact, but I have pulled the pump three times and the TIM is spread evenly across the entire die. This is the same H100I V2 I used on my 3770K.
