Thunderbolt doesnt work at all on x570 Creator

What's the deal with this? I bought this board for the thunderbolt and it won't recognize my audio interface. ALL the drivers are in and current.
Do I have to turn on thunderbolt in BIOS or something? I went in there and didnt see anything for TB. The Intel TB app is installed. Its showing both ports but my interface wont show. It works fine with USB and its a brand new interface. Im also using the apple TB2 to TB3 adaptor. Is that why??

I'm experiencing the same thing, I believe. To answer your question regarding "Thunderbolt" settings in UEFI/BIOS, though, there is such a setting:

Advanced --> AMD PBS --> Thunderbolt

This, however, was not my issue. In Windows 10 when I run the "Thunderbolt Software" application in Windows 10, I can see that the OS recognized "Thunderbolt Controller 1" with two associated ports. But I don't see anything when I plug in my audio interface (Focusrite Clarett 8PreX) via the Apple TB2 to TB3 adaptor.

Unfortunately I don't own any native TB3 devices to troubleshoot with. Has anybody out there found a solution to this?

UPDATE: After beating my head against a wall for almost a week trying to get this to work, I have found the solution--at least for my issue! In the UEFI/BIOS, set the following setting to "None":

Advanced --> AMD PBS --> Security

I don't generally do online forums (this is literally the first I've ever joined), but this issue was just too important to me. Anyway, go ahead and give that a try. Like I said, this works for my Focusrite Clarett 8PreX using an Apple Tb2 to TB3 adaptor. I'm also running BIOS version "2.40" with a Ryzen 3900X, if you care to know.

Hey, no problem. What I'm about to suggest to you is likely FAR more than you actually need to do, but I ended up doing all of the following before it actually started working. I can't say if one, some, or all of the following was necessary, but I suspect if you do ALL of the following you'll be up and running:

As I said in an earlier message, I'm running UEFI/BIOS version 2.40. For the sake of experimentation, start by making sure you're running that version.

Next, in UEFI/BIOS, make sure that your PC is set as follows:
Advanced --> AMD PBS --> Security = "None"
Advanced --> AMD PBS --> Thunderbolt = "Enabled"

I'm not sure if it matters or not, but also try running everything with Secure Boot turned on. I originally tried running it in legacy mode and wasn't having any luck. Note: if you initially installed Windows 10 with legacy mode enabled, the UEFI/BIOS won't see your drive as bootable until you change your drive so that it uses a GPT structure instead of an MBR structure. To do that, visit the following link:

Before you do any of that, though, what kind of Thunderbolt device are you trying to connect to your PC? And what UEFI/BIOS version are you running?

Hi! Thank you for your kind help.

I?™m running BIOS version 2.70

The device I?™m trying to run is a Pegasus R6 Thunderbolt array connected through a Startech Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt adapter. Both the array and the adapter run flawlessly on two others intel/Mac systems.

I did turn Thunderbolt to Enabled and Security to None in the Bios Unfortunately with no success.... :-(

Okay, we've at least eliminated a few possibilities... What kind of behavior do you get when you run the "Thunderbolt Software" application on your PC? Also, do do you see any driver errors when you open Device Manager?

Hello,

I have the Focusrite Clarett 8PreX and so I need Thunderbolt in order to run the Audio Interface. My Motherboard is the Gigabyte Z490 Vision D which has Thunderbolt 3 and I need to convert back down to TB2. I purchased the TB3 to TB2 adapter by Apple but the Clarett 8PreX Audio Interface does not recognize that it is connected. Now PC recognizes it is connected by making the connection sound when the Interface is on and off.

When I download and install the driver by Focusrite, when the download is complete it says no device connected. So are there any PCI-E Cards that will help with my situation? Or can you recommend another Motherboard that has Thunderbolt on it but will work with my RAM and Hardware inside my PC? I spent close to $1700 putting this together and so I am hoping that I will only need a PCI-e card or Motherboard as opposed to building an entire PC all over again.
