   Good job checking it with a linux live instance  It is always helpful to be able to rule out the OS as the issue. I would try clearing CMOS via the battery removal method and try it again but if that does not restore functionality then I suggest you return it if you are still able. By the sound of it the NIC is dead. If you get a replacement you may also want to replace your LAN cables that connect to the machine to be on the safe side, something had to have damaged the NIC.

	Last night the network on my computer stoped working and windows gave the error "missing network protocols". I then tried running a live linux instance (which used to work), but the networked did not work either. When looking into Windows event manager I found an error related to the ethernet controler : (translated from french) The driver handlening system stop the process of the driver e22w10x64.inf_amd64_db08423f74b5886d\e22w10x64.inf for the device id PCI\VEN_1969&DEV_E091&SUBSYS_E0911849&REV_10\4&1B7FE41B&0&00E2 with status 0x0 What should I do now ? Is this a physical problem and should I send the motherboard back ? Thanks
