My RMA has arrived and in minutes my system booted up like there had been nothing wrong with it. thanks again Xaltar for all your help. Now I will follow your suggestions regarding UPS and removing power when a storm is nearby also I will be shutting the system down at night and when I leave home. When I did my RMA they asked if I had registered my MB which I had not because I didn't see any place to do that. Where can I go to register my new board? Thanks again. Tom |

Happy to hear the RMA worked out for you
So far as I know there isn't anywhere to register your board with ASRock. Did ASRock ask for this or the reseller? From what I was able to dig up ASRock prefers RMA requests be handled by the reseller so the registration of the product should be with them (newegg, amazon etc). You could send a support request and ask them directly I guess.

5 days after my success after properly powering down the machine I went to turn it back on and no response. The problem was again isolated to the motherboard. I am now trying your trick of removing all the power. I don't expect a positive result however. It appears that I will be joining that group of dissatisfied AsRock consumers.
