B650M/HDV.M2 (rev 1.07 sticker at BIOS chip)

1.30.AS05 [Beta]

Is the last bios i can run my memory on stock speeds. (G.SKILL F5-5600J3636C16GX2-TZ5RS). I could run the memory out of the box with XMP profile, hassle free and stable.

Every bios past 1.30.AS05 [Beta] i can not make this memory stable @stock (5600mhz 36-36-36 1.2v) settings and i need to manually downclock (5000mhz 38-38-38 and higher voltage).

What is the reason for that? Will this be fixed?

BIOS 2.08 final is out.

is 2.08 any different to 2.08.AS01 or is it just a relabel?

Short of a reply from ASRock_TSD or someone testing it out there is no way to know
at this point. Generally, if the beta passed testing it will simply be relabeled
and uploaded as a release version. If there were any bugfixes made then these will
be added to the final release too. Which is true here I can't say.

You could open a support ticket and ask directly. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Yes thats how I understand it, just wanted to make sure. Thank you

Anyway I decided to take a look again on this and found a fix.

I needed to set all the training options from default to auto. I've set the first option (DFE read training) to enable in the main timing menu.

Training isn?™t working for me. - screen stays black for 30+ minutes. Nothing works for me beyond. FW 1.30 AS05.

update the ancient bios to the most recent 2.10 (as of today). Repeat what you did for the newly updated bios

As I said, nothing works beyond FW 1.30 AS05. FW 2.00, 2.02, 2.08 and 2.10 all fail and will not train with memory on the QVL which obviously has not been supported since 1.30 AS05. Thats what i understand - firmware ~1.30 introduced memory training options, so if it worked for pre ~1.30 it can work at new bioses too - you just have to set memory training options. Unfortunatelly the 'default' or 'auto' dont work for your memory RAM product.

When the MB trains memory, what does it do? I just get a black screen for 30 minutes or so. There's no indication training is taking place. Then I hard boot, it goes to boot Windows and immediately encounters an error. Then they system restarts to the Asrock boot screen and stays there for another 30 minutes before I finally must revert back to 1.30 AS05 FW. Might it be the 670E will not accept training options like the B650?
