The BIOS temps run hotter due to the BIOS somewhat straining the CPU. That is normal while reading temps in the BIOS directly.

That has been normal for the i7-7700K processor for some reason, I have seen that myself with that processor.
But your board has a Beta UEFI/BIOS that addresses this situation. My Z270 board also has a UEFI/BIOS update that applies a fix for it, and it works. I suggest you apply that version for your board if that bothers you. http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/Z270%20Taichi/index.asp#BIOS When in the UEFI/BIOS, the CPU power saving options are not active, so most processors tend to run warmer while in the UEFI UI for that and other reasons. |
