So this is the solution. Just do not use the internal chipset for USB storage devices.

Ok, I have installed a PCI USB card, and up to now it seems to work. Fingers crossed.

This did not change anything; still system fails to reboot as /usr/bin/eject is stuck in "D" state (from ps manpage):
D uninterruptible sleep (usually IO) Any solution/workaround? TIA George |

Hello all
I have an X570 Pro4 MB with NVIDIA 4070 and AMD Ryzen 7 5800X and I am experiencing problems with USB storage devices (tried two: one that presents itself as an USB stick and one vanilla USB stick). I am running Linux so when I bought the X570 I switched MB and video card and kept everything else (including the OS). The stirage devices worked without a glitch with the old MB, and they still work, however they leave hanging processes, which prevent the system from powering off or rebooting:
I habe BIOS 5.60 installed. Any idea what I can do about it? Best George |
