X470 Taichi with 3950x and I have excellent results with Team Group Dark Pro. Rock solid. Have 4x8Gb installed. No power-sucking RGB :D

so would settle for 2133/2400 kits (just to get it working on 8gb)

buyers of 3200mhz ram are usually looking for max frames in games and would only be buying 16+gb

soooooooo

far far less 3200mhz+ 8gb ram kits for sale due to lack of demand

not to say you cant get them , just stocks and choices are far less

for what in effect should be a quite modest increase of the build cost i still would recommend 16gb , and in a few years you would see the wisdom of the extra cash now

I understand. That makes sense (the lack of demand for 8gb high speed).

As for relocating the drive, I could possibly do that if I buy a bracket to mount it in a 5.25 bay. As for getting a 2.5 SSD, well I'd rather not right now. The 2tb drive is only half full & 3 years old, so it still has some good life left. Once I get near filling it, I would have to think about a new drive.

I think that one might fit. It does not look like the spreader is much above the board, and the specs on it say the height is 32mm or 1.259 inch. I believe my G.Skill is 1.25 inches. There's another related model listed which does not look like it has a spreader: T-Force T-1 Would that one work well with an AMD system as well?
