New guy here.
I have a Z590 Extreme MB and gen 10 processor (10770k). It has bios updated to 2.22 today, the latest version. It's been running for years and today I fitted an NVMe which was not seen in UEFI by the mobo, this is a fairly common thing it seems. Specifically, Samsung 990 Pro 1TB into the M_3 slot per the manual. I understand its PCIe 4, but mobo manual states it is backward compatible with the PCIe 3 slot. There is nothing fitted to the two SATA slots which the manual states will be affected by using m_3, sata 3_4 and 3_5. I note NVMe of many brands not working is common for a variety of reasons, none of the solutions offered I've seen so far are available in the Z590 UEFI config. Any advice for what I suspect is a known problem? TIA. |
